Arsenal is closer to the Semifinals in the Champions League

Arsenal FC beat Juventus 2-0 in the Champions League and their chances to be in the semifinals are bigger than ever. The Italian team ended with nine players.

Spanish Cesc Fabregas and French Thierry Henry scored for Arsenal, England's only remaining representative, which is aiming to reach the last four of Europe's elite club competition for the first time. The return game in Turin is April 5.

The Champions League is Arsenal's last opportunity for a trophy this campaign and it may need to win the competition to secure a spot next season. It stands sixth in England's Premier League, two places behind the qualifying positions.

Juventus of Turin finished with nine players today at Highbury, north London, after Mauro Camoranesi and Jonathan Zebina were dismissed in the final three minutes for receiving their second yellow cards. Both are now suspended for the second game, as well as the Italian team's former Arsenal midfielder Patrick Vieira.
