Carling Cup: Arshavin leads Arsenal to victory over Bolton Wanderers

The 2011/2012 Carling Cup is the perfect scenario to see the best Arsenal after Fabregas' departure. In fact, this 2-1 win over Bolton is the seventh victory in eight games, which means the team is gaining confidence and offensive power.

This win was not so easy to achieve, and only the talent of Arshavin allowed the Gunners defeat their rival. The russian footballer netted the equalizer in the second half, after Bolton's  Fabrice Muamba scored the opener. Korean midfielder Park Chu-Young scored the final goal two minutes later.

This is a great result to boost the team's morale and to help Wenger explore options for the first team.

Short victory over Sunderland

Robin Van Persie was the hero at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday. The duel between Arsenal and Sunderland finished with a 2-1 triumph for the Gunners, but their poor performance keeps supporters unhappy.

The Dutch footballer proved to be extremely important for Wenger. Van Persie scored a double, while Sebastian Larsson netted the only goal for the visitors.

Arsenal is having one of their worst seasons so far, and this win barely helps them to get away from the descending zone.
